We start this cycling tour from Sisodiya Rani Ka Bagh which is a beautiful garden between the Aravali ranges dotting East side of Jaipur city. It provides access to the areas situated in East of Jaipur & beyond. It is also the starting point of the road that leads to Agra, hence called Agra Road and is approx. 10 kms just outside Jaipur.
We take a small stop at a countryside school which was opened by late Rajmata of Jaipur Maharani Gayatri Devi Ji in 1989 for toddlers with free education and still it is being taken care by the royal family of Jaipur.
We continue cycling towards “Kanota” village crossing the country side and the traditional brick making factories where the local villagers make bricks out of clay and is the most traditional way to make bricks.
En-route Kanota we take a pit stop at the Kanota dam for a small photography session along with some Fruits & Juice overlooking the water reservoir, which also serves as a home to a numerous species of birds.
After making this pit stop at the dam we continue cycling towards Castle Kanota, famously known as “The 2nd best exotic Marigold Hotel”.
Spread over 8 acres of land, Castle Kanota is truly a magnificent experience. Built in 1872, the Castle is located east of Jaipur. With a built-in Museum and a Library which displays gold work and unique collection of rare books, the castle takes you back to the grandeur of the past. There might be various heritage hotels in and around Jaipur but there is only one – Castle Kanota – with lots of unique qualities and live sign of rural tourism.
During your visit at Castle Kanota, you will discover the secret of the grandeur of the Rajput royalty, when you see the exquisitely decorated walls and ceilings that are fully covered with frescoes and paintings. The period furniture placed all over the hotel is more than a visual delight.
After the Heritage tour of the Castle and the Museum with the family itself who still use it as a residence, we end the tour with breakfast overlooking the Exotic Marigold Hotel. We promise to give you an experience that even the locals have not been privy to. The tour ends at Castle Kanota, and from here we drive back to Jaipur.
